For the past few years, I’ve been out of the conference game. COVID certainly played a role, but I admittedly just struggle with conferences. Most of them are too big, too crowded, too packed full of sessions, and honestly too theoretical, with less applied information than I would like. So much so that I created my own anti-conference, the Crafted Practice business retreat for testing folks. That said, something is calling to me this spring to check out some conferences again. Today, I’m highlighting a couple of my favorites, along with specific agenda sessions that I’m personally interested in.

    430. How to Reverse Engineer Employee/Contractor Compensation

Would you rather read the transcript? Click here.

Compensation is a hot topic among practice owners and employees alike, yet also one of the most misunderstood. We’ve all wrestled with the question of an appropriate “split,” often basing our decision off of what our peers do, what we’ve seen in Facebook groups, or what we “feel” is the right thing to do. This episode approaches compensation using simple math, working backward from industry standards for budgeting in private practice.
