APA Guidance for Tele-Assessment w/ Dr. Jordan Wright

Dr. Jeremy Sharp Podcast 5 Comments

Dr. Jordan Wright is here to talk through the recently published “Guidance on Psychological Tele-Assessment During the COVID-19 Crisis.” We talk briefly about Jordan’s research (which he has conducted for many years) on tele-assessment in general and his involvement in developing remote methods for both the WJ and the WISC. The conversation then turns to the six guiding principles for conducting remote assessment during these times. If you’ve read the principles, you’ll have some familiarity with the concepts, but Jordan really brings them to life through our discussion. This is a great partner episode to last week’s interview with Dr. Susie Raiford about remote assessment of the WISC!

  2. When working with the WJIV telecast, to pass on the response sheets, one needs to send them in a closed packet to the client to be opened during time of testing and the packet has to be sent back to examiner. When this isn’t possible is it legal to scan and water mark the sheets appropriately to be sent tot he client which he will complete and sent back and have the client sign that he will not share the contents. I thought I read that this is an option but I don’t recall where I read it. Pearson does not allow that for it’s products, but the WJIV is not Pearson. Can I also get some clarity on the use of the WAIS IV or WAIS 3 subtests via Zoom, vis vis copyright issues. Clearly subtests that require manipulatives cannot be administered in this format.
