Anyone out there in the market for a research-supported intervention program to build executive functioning skills for neurodivergent kids? I thought so. Dr. Laura Anthony is here to talk with me about the Unstuck and On Target program, an executive functioning skills curriculum that she co-developed and rolled out over the last several years. Here are a few things that we chat about:

About Dr. Laura Gutermuth Anthony
Laura Gutermuth Anthony, PhD is a Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Director of the Executive Functioning Clinic at CU Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and the Director of Research for the Division of Child and Adolescent Mental Health and is a clinical and developmental psychologist. She is especially interested in developing, testing and implementing evidence-based practices in the communities where they are needed using the co-development model. She is a co-author of the Unstuck and On Target curricula and resources, a school-and home-based executive function intervention proven in multiple research trials (unstuckandontarget.com). Much of her current research is focused on developing and evaluating this evidence-based treatment program to improve executive functioning, including cognitive flexibility, goal-setting, prioritizing/planning and coping skills in neurodivergent children. This project has received private foundation, NIMH and PCORI funding, and through this funding we have expanded into four age groups in schools, an online parent training program, parent support videos and a new CE credit online training model.
